Set on the green slopes between mountain and sea, this itinerary reveals Constantia beyond the expected tasting room.

The day begins with a gentle walk through Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in the world. Stroll along winding paths framed by towering trees, vibrant fynbos and open lawns, while your guide shares stories of the indigenous plant life that shapes the Cape landscape. Time permitting, wander onto the Boomslang canopy walkway, a curved treetop bridge offering elevated views across the gardens and out toward the valley below. It is a calm, immersive start that connects nature, scenery and a sense of place.

From garden paths to vineyard rows, the journey continues to Klein Constantia, one of the Cape’s most historic wine estates. Enjoy a guided tasting that introduces the valley’s cool climate wines and centuries old heritage, woven with tales of explorers, royalty and legendary vintages. The day concludes at Beau Constantia, a modern wine farm dramatically perched on steep slopes overlooking the vineyards and ocean beyond. Floor to ceiling glass and bold architecture frame one of the most striking settings in the valley.     Explore – A Gentle Wander Through Kirstenbosch Gardens
    Kirstenbosch is rightly called one of the most beautiful gardens in Africa. The recent creation of The Boomslang - a winding aerial boardwalk at treetop level – adds a birds’ eye view to the Arboretum. You’ll literally become part of the canopy. From here you can see Table Mountain and the entire city below, and it’s easy to spend an entire day wandering through the different plant kingdoms. Kirstenbosch is also the starting point of the Skeleton Gorge hike, so it’s well worth combining the two adventures for a great day out in nature.

    The famous Constantia Valley is home to a number of world-class vineyards, where growing conditions on the sheltered slopes are perfect for producing a variety of grapes. This is a wonderful opportunity to sample some of the country’s finest wines in contrasting settings, all within easy reach. Our wine tasting adventure begins with a visit to two of our favourites, each with a unique character – Beau Constantia, and Groot Constantia – and finishes at a mystery vineyard chosen by our guide.

    Up on the steep slopes of Table Mountain, Beau Constantia is one of the most elevated wine farms, at 350 metres above sea level. Panoramic views of the distant Stellenbosch and Helderberg mountain ranges are staggering, and stretch all the way to Hangklip on the far side of False Bay. This family-owned boutique vineyard is relatively new to the scene, having first been cultivated with a variety of vines as recently as 2003. Seven years later, the awards starting rolling in and Beau Constantia is justifiably proud of its superb range of wines which continue to pull in the accolades.
